Simpson Housing Services Launches Giveffect

Simpson Housing Services is transitioning our volunteer and donor databases to Giveffect. This platform will help us better integrate our donation, volunteer, events and communication systems in one place, while also streamlining your experience as a valued supporter.


What does this mean?

• A new place to register for volunteer shifts 
• A flexible, mobile app option  
• Streamlined data for volunteering, donations, communications, and events
 
We know that any change can bring questions, or uncertainty, but we are committed to learning alongside you and are confident it will be a positive, user-friendly change! 
 
What are the next steps? 
 
1. To sign up to volunteer, go to: https://give.simpsonhousing.org/volunteer_calendar
If you already have a VolunteerHub account, we DO need you to create a new account that is unique to Giveffect. This will be a one-time action.

2. To Donate, visit this page https://simpsonhousing.org/get-involved/donate/ and scroll down to the Donate tab.

3. Please use the SAME first name, last name, and email address you used in VolunteerHub so your account can connect and we can avoid creating duplicate records.
Reach out to Katelyn if you need that information.  
If you regularly sign up for volunteer shifts (Shelter Support, Prep Cook, Meal Helper, etc.) you will receive another email from Katelyn or Aaron detailing how to access your scheduled shifts. Any shifts you already signed up for in the future will be transferred automatically, so you do not need to re-register.

There will not be a gap period; we will close VolunteerHub at the same time we launch Giveffect! All volunteer data will be transferred over. If you have questions, email Katelyn or Aaron

That’s great! We are so happy you are a regular volunteer with us. Please make a new, unique account (username and password) in Giveffect so we can have up-to-date information on your record. When creating an account, please use the same first name, last name, and email address you used in VolunteerHub so your account can connect and we can avoid creating duplicate records.

That’s alright! The first time you attempt to register for a volunteer shift, you will be prompted to create an account with a unique username and password.

We are so happy you are proactive and already registered! Any shifts that you are signed up for past the day Giveffect goes live will be manually transferred by the Volunteer Team. Please reach out to Katelyn with any questions or concerns around this.

Giveffect will allow the Volunteer and Advancement & Communications teams to work within the same database to support volunteers and donors. This will provide much more efficient and streamlined tracking of Simpson supporters like you! Giveffect also offers a mobile app option for shift check-in, more modern visualizations, and customizability.

With anything new, this process will be a learning curve for everyone, and we invite you to remain patient with us. The Volunteer and Advancement & Communications Teams have spent weeks learning about this system and how to best support you in this transition. The new system will look and feel different; take time to create an account and explore your account page.

Yes, you as a supporter can manage your privacy settings. Simpson staff does not have access to your account settings and cannot reset your password. Visit THIS link to learn more.
