So far this year, volunteer projects have included making sandwiches and bagged lunches for shelter guests, a coffee drive for shelter guests, and renovation of the storage room at the shelter. The company has additional volunteer projects planned for the remainder of the year.
bdh + young’s employees submitted recommendations for an organization to partner with and the company’s founder, Kathy Young, selected Simpson Housing Services, knowing the company could leverage their skills and knowledge to support Simpson’s mission.
Hannah Schneider, an interior designer at bdh + young says she’s enjoyed volunteering with Simpson because there are a variety of opportunities and you’re bound to find something that fits your interests. “Our staff has really enjoyed volunteering. Everyone’s come out for our sandwich making happy hours. Making dinner was a lot of work, but everyone enjoyed meeting the shelter guests and giving back to the community,” Hannah says.
We are very grateful for the volunteers from bdh+young, and all our volunteers, for donating their time and talents to our mission to house, support, and advocate for individuals experiencing homelessness.
