Dear Simpson Supporter,
For more than 40 years, Simpson Housing Services has walked alongside people on their journey from homelessness to stable housing. As I prepare to step down this May after 14 years as Executive Director, I am reflecting upon the power of this community, grounded in shared values and long-term commitment.
Simpson is strong. Our staff are deeply committed. Our programs make a meaningful impact, serving nearly 2,000 individuals and families each year with shelter, housing, and supportive services that foster long-term stability and belonging. We provide supportive housing to more than 600 households across Hennepin, Ramsey, Anoka, and Carver counties.
When a community chooses dignity and impact, stability becomes possible. You have been part of that choice before. I’m reaching out because this moment calls for steadiness, honesty, and renewed commitment to the values that define Simpson Housing Services.
This past January, we opened the doors to Simpson Community Shelter & Apartments — one of the great honors of my tenure. More than a building, it brings shelter, permanent supportive housing, and services together under one roof. Just a few months into operations, the space is a welcoming, peaceful place where people can rest, stabilize, and begin their transition out of homelessness.
Our dedicated staff show up every day — accompanying people to appointments, supporting them through challenges, and offering reassurance built on trust and consistency. This is Simpson’s approach, guided by the belief that everyone deserves safety, housing, dignity, and the opportunity to move forward.
If you feel moved to support Simpson’s mission to house, support, and empower people impacted by homelessness, your gift today will help ensure Simpson remains a place of safety and continuity.
I am deeply grateful for your commitment and for the values we continue to hold together – it has been my honor to serve as a steward.
Best regards,

Steve Horsfield
