Artwork by Carl Bretzke
In his professional career, Carl practiced as an interventional radiologist; while his love of art museums during his youth sparked his passion for becoming an artist. Identifying most closely with realism, representational oil painter Carl Bretzke expresses his artistic talents through landscapes, cityscapes and interiors.
“I am drawn to overlooked images of everyday life often juxtaposed upon some form of beauty that results in an interesting combination; ‘tensioning the opposites,’ as a teacher of mine once said,” Carl shares in the December 9, 2017 edition of Wall Street International Magazine.
Carl exhibits his art in Minneapolis, Washington D.C. and Sag Harbor, NY. He has received numerous awards including the grand prize winner of the international Plein Air Salon 2016.
Carl has been contributing his artwork to Art 4 Shelter for seven years. He became increasingly interested in the event because his wife, Kristie, and many of their artist friends were involved in the organization.
Originally from Hutchinson, MN, Carl now resides in Minneapolis. Carl Bretzke’s artwork may be viewed on his website: carlbretzke.com.
