Working in clay for the past 15 years, John hand–builds functional wares using stoneware or porcelain to achieve thin, yet unexpectedly, durable forms. His ifpottery work reflects a simple modern aesthetic, as well as an appreciation for pared-down, accessible possessions and lifestyles.
John learned of Art 4 Shelter through former photo stylist colleagues Abby Wyckoff and Juli Hanssen who have been longtime contributors to the event. John is honored to donate his work to Art 4 Shelter this year.
“Before leaving Minneapolis, I was dismayed about the homelessness situation. When I was working full-time, I was able to give financial support to causes that mattered. Now that I’m retired, I enjoy donating my art. It’s an easy and great way to contribute,” he says.

John exhibits his artwork at significant art centers across the country. Welcoming dialogue about his artwork, John encourages the community to contact him with questions through his website.
