Happy New Year from Simpson!

It probably goes without saying that 2021 has been difficult for most of us, most especially those of us going without sufficient housing. Wishing everyone a “happy” new year can sometimes feel a little trite when times are hard.

But nevertheless, we’re grateful for the year we were able to have with your help. Your support allowed us to expand our services and keep our shelter open 24/7 so people could continue to shelter in place safely. They helped us hire more staff so we could do better by guests and participants. They helped us provide for basic needs like food and warm clothes, and for experiences every family should be able to have, like back-to-school shopping.

We’re so honored to have your support and to serve the community we love. That’s reason enough to celebrate — while acknowledging the urgency required to address the hardship and injustice posed by insufficient housing.

Thank you for everything. We hope you’ll join us next year in our mission to house, support, and advocate for people experiencing homelessness.
