Music 4 Shelter FAQs

We’re so excited to see you at Music 4 Shelter on November 5! Here’s some info to help you plan your night. If you don’t find the answer to your question here, you can always get in touch with us at eloeffler@simpsonhousing.org.

What’s your COVID-19 policy?

As an organization that interfaces directly with the community – including some of our most vulnerable neighbors – we take preventing the spread of COVID-19 seriously. We’re partnering with the Fillmore to keep Music 4 Shelter attendees safe and healthy.

  • Proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of the concert are required. Make sure you have your documents at the ready. If you have a negative test result, please print it out and present it. If you’ve got a vaccination record, you can pull it up on your phone.
  • If you are not fully vaccinated, you will be asked to wear a mask.
  • Staff will continuously clean and sanitize the venue. Be sure to follow directives and signage for social distancing.
  • More COVID-19 safety information is available on the Fillmore Minneapolis’ website.

Please note – this event will be cashless.

Where do I park?

The Fillmore doesn’t have a parking lot, but it is located directly on the Target Field station light rail stop. Metered parking is available on the surrounding streets, which you can easily pay for with the ParkMobile App. A few lots and ramps are located just blocks away.

If you reserved a room at Element Minneapolis Downtown — which is located right by the Fillmore — for the night, parking is available for hotel guests at $15 a night.

When’s this thing starting?

The night begins at 6 p.m. and it ends at midnight. The lineup: Soul Beautiful, Matt Wilson and his Orchestra, Jeremy Messersmith, and Chastity Brown. DJ Sophia Eris will be keeping the house rocking between acts, and there will be music and fun all evening.

I’m here; now what?

When you arrive, check in with staff to show your ticket and proof of vaccination (and, if you’re a VIP ticket holder, get your VIP pass and drink ticket). Free coat check is available.

For this special event, the Fillmore is suspending its clear bag policy.

If you win a prize or an auction item later – or even if you just buy a T-shirt – you can stow those safely in the coat check area as well.

Beyond that? Have fun! Staff will be available to answer any questions or assist you.

Is there a dress code?

Frankly, we’re very “wear what you want” here at Simpson, but if you’re looking for a dress code, think casual rock concert attire.

Is there food?

You bet! Snacks and beverages will be available for purchase, and there’s FREE Ben and Jerry’s ice cream for everybody. VIP ticket holders also get complimentary appetizers and drink tickets.

What are the proceeds going toward?

One hundred percent of the benefit concert proceeds will go toward Simpson’s shelter and programs. Simpson’s a nonprofit, and its mission is to house, support, and advocate for people experiencing homelessness. You can learn more about what we do by exploring simpsonhousing.org.

I can’t go to the event; can I still help out?

Absolutely! You can still contribute to Music 4 Shelter’s success by bidding in our online auction, which opens at noon on November 5 and closes at 11 p.m. (You don’t have to attend to win something cool!) Here’s the link.

You can also donate by texting 243725 and entering “ROCKTHEFUND”. We’ll gladly accept gifts of all sizes.
