Help prepare students for educational success!
Simpson partners with families in our supportive housing programs through the Tools for School fundraiser to equip students of all ages for educational success. We believe that investing in multi-generational education is investing in our community’s health. Young people are more likely to be successful in the classroom when they are prepared for school and their parents are invested in their education. The Tools for School program empowers families to shop for the specific supplies and learning tools that learners need to do their best work. Tools for School also funds resources for continuing education and skill building, such as financial literacy courses for parents.
By equipping families and students for educational success, together we are breaking cycles of homelessness.
How you can help:
You can help by making a financial gift so that families can select and purchase the educational supplies their students need most. We invite you to be part of a broad community of care. With your support, we can partner with over 300 families and 650 children in Simpson’s programs and prepare students for academic success.
Your gift may be used by families to purchase:
- Learning supplies, including backpacks, notebooks, folders, crayons, pens, pencils, and more.
- Technology, including calculators, tablets, headphones, chargers, or internet access.
- Culturally specific resources and learning opportunities. The majority of our program participants identify as Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), and we are building on our work to effectively serve participants with culturally responsive delivery models, including reading curriculum for children and parent leadership skills.
How your gift supports students in Simpson’s housing programs:
- $50 gift – supports a pre-K–5th grade student
- $75 gift – supports a middle school student
- $100 gift – supports a high school student or adult learner
- $150 gift – provides technology for a family
- $200 gift – provides books, curriculum, and supplies for our Children & Youth Services program
- Any amount – provides students with the tools they need to succeed!
