Volunteer Diksha Srishyla supports Simpson’s mission

Diksha Srishyla, a recent Master of Public Health graduate at the University of Minnesotawanted to do something to help people experiencing homelessness in the Twin Cities area. She researched local shelters and decided upon Simpson Housing Services

Gathering for her birthday in January, Diksha and her friends, also graduate students at the U of M, served a meal to more than 100 shelter guests.

Diksha shares about her positive volunteer experience with Simpson in an article published in Youth Ki Awaaz (Voices of Youth), a publication in India geared to community members committed to social justice. Her hope is to help people experiencing homelessness in India, where she grew up, and in the Twin Cities.
